What could be better than rescuing a puppy?
However the reality is that puppies very rarely come up for rescue. We do get them, shelters get them also but not very often.
The vast majority of dog rescues are for older dogs that are at least one year old.
Saying that there will most likely be some puppies available at very reasonable prices because they are a mixed breed. Pure-breed puppies often go for thousands of dollars but some mixed breed puppies can go for around $200.
They are normally in rural areas so require some travel to see them. In Australia there are rules about the sale of puppies and they often require a Microchip number and to be vaccinated. Because of this some lower priced puppies are real bargains as they have already had money spent on them to ensure they are healthy and identify-able.
Have a good search through our search engine and you may find a perfect new pet. If not please consider a rescue dog that is a few years old. They might not be puppies but they are just as loving and they need our help.
